Amreli: In a second such incident within a fortnight, a seven-year-old girl lost her life after being fatally attacked by a lioness in Jafrabad taluka.
The incident occurred on Monday evening when the girl was returning home from a farm with her mother in Kanthariya Khalsa village, Jafrabad taluka. The lioness suddenly appeared, dragging the child into nearby bushes. Later, her remains were found in the area.
Range Forest Officer GL Vaghela informed the media that forest officials responded swiftly, successfully tranquilizing and caging the lioness by Tuesday morning.
This marks the second such tragedy in the area within two weeks. On October 21, a lioness killed a five-year-old boy who was playing outside his hut in Navi Jikadri village, also in Jafrabad taluka. DeshGujarat
