November 14, 2024
Sanand: The Bhoomi Pujan of the 85-foot lion-shaped Durga Mandir at Nala Sarovar Road in Sanand will take place on November 17. The Jyot (flame) from all the Shaktipeeths of Maa Durga will be placed in this temple. Notably, permission has also been obtained to bring the Jyot from the Hinglaj Mata Temple, one of the Shaktipeeths located in Pakistan.
The Durgadham organization is overseeing the construction of the temple. According to Dayamurthy Gurumata of the organization, “In this lion-shaped temple, devotees will be able to see the 21-foot-tall idol of Mother Durga, as well as representations of 51 Shaktipeeths. This temple complex, which will be without a Shikhar, will also have facilities for Sadavarat. The temple will not only serve as a place of faith but also as a hub for unique architecture and spiritual growth. The complex will include a meditation center for pilgrims, relaxation facilities, and customized activities for the local community. It will become a new type of spiritual-cultural center for the devotees of Gujarat.”
The organization plans to collect Jyot from 45 Shaktipeeths across the country and 6 Shaktipeeths in other countries over the next three months. The temple will be designed to accommodate 500 devotees for darshan at once.
Before the temple’s construction, 201 needy girls from 15 villages surrounding Nala Sarovar will be adopted. Orphaned or homeless girls will be provided accommodation in the temple. DeshGujarat
