November 27, 2024
Ahmedabad: A resident of Fatehwadi in the Juhapura area of the city has been booked for allegedly threatening a Torrent Power official who uncovered an illegal electricity connection during a routine inspection.
The complaint, filed by the manager of Torrent Power’s Vasna service centre, states that during an inspection in the Fatehwadi canal area, the team found unauthorised power connections. The resident had reportedly tampered with the lock of a mini section pillar and connected wires directly to his home.
Tensions escalated when the illegal connection was severed. The resident allegedly threatened to kill the manager and his family, warning him to avoid the area. As a crowd gathered, the manager called the police control room and later filed a complaint at the Vejalpur police station. The accused has been charged under the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act and for voluntarily causing grievous hurt and criminal intimidation. DeshGujarat
