Surat: Bardoli Lok Sabha seat representative Prabhubhai Vasava called on Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu in the national capital and demanded a flight connecting Surat to Raipur.

Vasava told the minister that Surat is linked to Raipur through textile trade, and a large number of people from Raipur work in Surat in various industries. Surat’s textile items are sold in Raipur’s markets, he added, and said there is no air connectivity between the two cities.

Raipur’s Lok Sabha MP, traders from Raipur, and Surat-based FOSTA president Kailash Hakim have also made representations regarding their demand for a Surat-Raipur flight. Surat MP Mukesh Dalal and Rajya Sabha member Govindbhai Dholakiya have also supported the demand. DeshGujarat
