Bharuch: A 10-year-old daughter of a migrant family died of rape injuries in a Vadodara-based hospital. The migrant family of the victim girl was from Jharkhand. The accused in this case, Vijay Paswan, is also a migrant from Bihar. He has been arrested. He is on a 7-day remand approved by the Ankleshwar court’s Additional District Judge. The victim girl died on the 8th day of rape.

She was abducted from her home and raped by Paswan (36) in a bushy area near her home. Paswan not only raped the victim but also inserted an iron rod in her vagina and caused an injury beyond recovery. Paswan also damaged the victim child’s lips and caused injuries to her face. Paswan had sexually abused the victim on an earlier occasion also, but her parents kept mum to protect the prestige of the child.

This brutal rape by Paswan caused injuries in the victim child’s stool area, vagina, uterus, and large intestine. Paswan abducted the victim child when her parents were out for labor work. The girl was first taken to the GIDC-based medical center, from where she was taken to the Bharuch-based civil hospital for treatment. She was later taken to Vadodara-based Sayaji Hospital.

Paswan is married and the father of two children. His family stays in his native state. Paswan had injured the victim girl by hitting her in the face with a stone and also used a sharp weapon against her. The victim girl’s father lived in Jhagadia for nearly 15 years, and the family was brought to Jhagadia for the last 7 months. The family has four children, including two sons and two daughters.
