Lithium battery of toy explodes, leaving a child without eye in Mahisagar

Mahisagar: A child lost his eye after a lithium battery inside a toy he was playing with exploded. The incident occurred two days ago in Koydam village of Virpur taluka.
The child, identified as Virendrasinh Thakor, a grade two student at Maa Gayatri International School near Lalsar Crossroads, was playing with the robotic toy he received from school when the battery exploded. The blast caused severe injuries to his eye and other parts of his body.
The parents of the child rushed him to a hospital in Ahmedabad for primary treatment. Later, he was shifted to a private hospital in Lunawada for further care. However, reports indicate that he has lost his vision due to the injuries sustained in the blast. DeshGujarat
