Surat: As part of Phase II of the redevelopment work at Surat Railway Station, Platforms 2 and 3, along with Line No. 3 (Common Loop), will be closed to passenger movement and traffic for a period of 60 days starting at 12:00 AM on January 8, 2025. This closure is necessary to facilitate the construction of an air concourse and other infrastructural upgrades.

During the execution of this work, certain up and down trains will bypass their scheduled halts at Surat Station and instead stop at Udhna Station. Some trains may face short-term terminations or partial cancellations. Additionally, selected trains will follow extended routes.

Over the 60-day block, 122 mail express trains (up line) will halt at Udhna instead of Surat, while 79 mail express trains (down line) will use Udhna as their stopping point. At Surat, 102 trains, including Rajdhani, Vande Bharat, and Shatabdi, will continue operating from Platform 1. In addition, 62 premium mail express trains (up line) will be handled at Platform 4. Furthermore, 18 MEMU local trains will be shifted to Udhna, and 4 MEMU trains will originate from Udhna instead of Surat.

The redevelopment work is aimed at modernizing Surat Station with improved facilities for passengers. Western Railway authorities have urged passengers to cooperate during this phase to ensure smooth operations with minimal inconvenience.
