Ahmedabad: If you are going to eat at a hotel that serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, then think about it, because another incident has come to light in which non-vegetarian food was served when order was given for vegetarian food. The customers at Bellasen Bistro Hotel near Pakwan Char Rasta on SG Highway in the city claimed they were served chicken in paneer sabji. As their religious sentiments were hurt, they approached the hotel manager and chef. However they claimed the received arrogant response. The hotel manager and chef allegedly told the customers to do whatever they wanted.

The customers approached the Bodakdev Police Station and also the Food Department of the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC). A young man named Hardik Borana, who lives in Jashodanagar area, along with 10 other friends, had visited Bellasen Bistro Hotel near Bodakdev, Pakwan intersection on SG Highway for dinner on December 31st. He had ordered different paneer sabjis. In this group, 4 friends were Jains and 1 friend was follower of the Swaminarayan religion. Hardik claims he started eating, so as the other young man, who followed the Swaminarayan sect. He further claims that when he tried to break the paneer and eat it, it tasted odd, so he took it out in a dish and saw that it was chicken.

The manager of the restaurant however refuted the claim and said that it’s wrong to say that chicken came out from a Paneer dish.

The manager who claimed he himself was a vegetarian said – ‘the waiter served chicken dish on wrong table but soon realized and tried to take it back, but by the time the customers who were offended seeing the non-veg dish on their table called it back and as it can be seen in the video the customers themselves served it in their plate and made a video. The waiter conveyed sorry to customers but they were seemingly drunk. They were in a group and spoiled the garden by spitting masala. When the customers came to know that our chef was a Muslim by faith, they targetted him and falsely alleged that as he was a Muslim, he deliberately inserted chicken in paneer dish. This hurt the sentiment of chef as his faith was involved now. Police was approached by the restaurant itself.’
