Ahmedabad: The Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Ltd. (SRFDCL) has today announced that I P Gautam, IAS (Retd.), has formally taken over the role of Chairman of the SRFDCL today for the term of two years. Gautam is former Municipal Commissioner of Ahmedabad. He is also former principal secretary of the urban development, housing, ports, and transport departments of the state government and former managing director of the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation(GMRC). He was also a member of the Lokpal in national capital. A 1986 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer (Retired), Gautam succeeds Keshav Varma who led SRFDCL for about five years.
