Bardoli: Another case of stray dog menace has come to light as a 4-year-old boy lost his life after being bitten by a rabid dog.
Arshil, the 4-year-old son of Amitbhai Vyas, a resident of Abhilasha Society on Shastri Road, was playing in the society premises about ten days ago when a stray dog suddenly attacked and bit him. The family took him to a private hospital, where the doctor advised that no vaccine was needed since the wound was only a minor scratch. Reassured by this, the family returned home. However, ten days later, on Tuesday, Arshil developed symptoms of rabies. As his condition worsened, he was taken to a private hospital and later referred to the New Civil Hospital in Surat for further treatment. Tragically, he did not survive.
Regarding the incident, Bardoli Taluka Health Officer Pankaj Fanasiya said, “After learning about this, our team has visited the site and started a survey. However, the exact cause of death is not yet confirmed. Further action will be taken after receiving the report from Civil Hospital.”
Meanwhile, fearing for their children’s safety, parents of other kids who had come in contact with Arshil rushed to Bardoli Satyagraha Hospital and got them vaccinated. DeshGujarat
