Vadodara: In a recent case of Love Jihad, a man has been arrested in the city for allegedly marrying a tribal Hindu woman under a false identity of a Hindu. However, after the marriage, the accused allegedly forced the woman to convert to Islam.
The accused, identified as Mohsin, a railway fitter, adopted a fake Hindu name, Manoj Soni, and came into contact with the victim, a divorced woman, in 2020. Claiming to be Hindu, Mohsin lured the woman into marriage. However, when the woman found out the truth and confronted him, he allegedly assaulted her. Later, the woman approached the police, who arrested the accused and are carrying out further investigation.
Speaking to the media about the case, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Zone 2, Panna Momaya, said, “They got married in 2022 and were living in the Bapod area. On January 14, the woman found out that the man was Muslim, not Hindu. When she questioned him about this, the accused beat her up and threatened to kill her and her children. He also tried to coerce her and her kids into converting to Islam.” DeshGujarat
