February 16, 2025
Ahmedabad: MLA from Ellisbridge and City BJP Chief, Amit Popatlal Shah, has written to the Municipal Commissioner and the Collector, urging the removal of illegal Bangladeshi colonies in the Chandola Lake area. Shah supported his claims with photos and videos showing the ongoing construction of new settlements around the lake.
In his latest letter addressed to the Municipal Commissioner, Shah states, “I would like to inform you that I wrote to you on 07/02/2025 regarding the removal of illegal Bangladeshi settlements in Chandola Lake. I would also like to inform you that certain elements within AMC are currently preparing to establish new settlements by dumping garbage and filling the area. In this regard, I have sent a message along with photos and videos to the Collector. I am also forwarding these photos and videos to you, and I hope you will take action to stop the construction of new settlements and remove the illegal ones built in the past.”
Earlier, Shah had flagged the construction of unauthorized shops near a municipal school in Jamalpur, leading to their demolition. DeshGujarat
