BJP wins with strike rate of 96%: Gujarat BJP Chief CR Patil on Local Polls Results
February 18, 2025
Gandhinagar: Union Minister & Gujarat BJP Chief CR Patil thanked the voters of Gujarat for giving the mandate to the party in the local body polls and stated that the party has won with a strike rate of 96% in the election of 68 municipalities, 3 taluka panchayats, and 1 municipal corporation.
Addressing the press conference at the state BJP headquarters Shri Kamalam in Gandhinagar, Patil said, “We are very grateful for the magnificent victory that the voters of Gujarat have bestowed upon us. The popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the public’s trust in him can be seen in Gujarat and the whole nation. I have said time and again, no party or leader has the power to catch the horses of the Ashwamedh Yagna of Modi Saheb.”
Patil congratulated the party cadres, attributing the victory to the leadership of PM Modi and Home Minister Shah, the work carried out by the Bhupendra Patel government in the state, and the hard work of the party workers.
“We fell a little short of our target of winning 68 out of 68 municipalities, but two bodies were won by SP and one municipality has gone to Congress. In the last polls, Congress had won in 13 places, but now they have come down to just one, and that too in a close battle with AAP in the last round of counting. BJP has increased its tally by 14 municipalities from the last election in which it had won 51 municipalities. We have won 60 seats with a majority, and in 5 seats, independent candidates who have won have supported us. So, in 65 municipalities, BJP will serve the people.”
“When you analyze the results, you will see that Congress could not open its account in 7 municipalities, and in the rest of the places, they have got 1-2 seats only. This shows that Congress has suffered massive wear and tear, while people’s trust in BJP and its workers has increased.”
Patil further said, “One of the Congress MLAs also faced defeat as he fought the Nagarpalika election. In Chanasma, which has a Congress MLA, BJP has won both municipalities. The so-called leader of the Congress party, Anklav MLA, didn’t even show the courage to give a mandate for the polls. BJP has won 10 seats in Anklav, and 3 other candidates are also supporting BJP, so in Anklav too, BJP will serve the people.”
“If you look at the strike rate of BJP, which has won 65 municipalities, 1 municipal corporation, and all 3 taluka panchayats, it is around a 96% strike rate, which is a record. If we only consider municipalities, then the BJP has a strike rate of 95.8%. This trust that the public has put in BJP has increased our responsibility, so we will work to further increase this trust. This is also a glimpse of the results that will come in the upcoming polls of 8 old municipal corporations and 9 new corporation elections, the Navsari Lok Sabha MP added. DeshGujarat
