Insurance cover under Janta Juth Akashamat Yojana to be increased to Rs. 2 lakh to 4 lakh

Gandhinagar: Insurance cover under the Janta Juth Akasmat Yojana of Gujarat government will be increased from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 2 lakh at present to Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 4 lakh in the next financial year (2025-2026).

Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai made this announcement today in his budget speech in the State assembly.

Desai said the scheme covers widows, cattle keepers, farmers, students, divyangs, sweepers, etc., in total around 4.45 crore beneficiaries.

While the present range of insurance cover under this scheme is Rs. 50,000 to 2 lakh, the proposed coverage shall be in the range of 2 lakh to 4 lakh in insurance cover in the upcoming financial year. “Janta Juth” is an Accidental Insurance Scheme launched by the Govt. of Gujarat to provide economic assistance of up to ₹ 2,00,000 in case of Death or Disability.
