Traffic restrictions in Surat for six months as new flyover construction begins

Surat: As part of the modernization of Surat Railway Station, the Surat Integrated Transportation Development Corporation Ltd. (SITCO) will undertake the construction of a new flyover bridge around the railway station to connect it with the Varachha Flyover Bridge. This work will continue for the next six months in the area from Central Warehouse Tran Rasta to Vaishali Circle. To ensure smooth traffic regulation and maintain law and order during this period, Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot has issued a notification prohibiting the movement and parking of all types of vehicles on the one-way road from Varachha Central Warehouse Tran Rasta to Vaishali Tran Rasta (the road leading towards Surat city) for six months.

According to the notification, heavy vehicles and private luxury buses will be allowed to operate from Hirabagh Circle towards Mini Bazaar and Central Warehouse Tran Rasta between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM. The relaxation time granted under the 2019 notification for heavy goods carriers and luxury buses will not apply to this area; instead, only the relaxation time specified in this notification (10:00 PM to 6:00 AM) will be considered. Shopkeepers and pedestrians will be permitted to use the footpath along the road from Varachha Central Warehouse to Vaishali Three Road, while other vehicles must take alternative routes.
