Four semiconductor plants to come up in Gujarat with investment worth ₹1,24,933 crore: Details

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, during the ongoing budget session of the assembly, stated in response to a question that as of December 31, 2024, four semiconductor plants have been approved or are under construction in the state, with a total investment exceeding Rs. 1.24 lakh crore.

As per his reply, the details regarding the establishment of semiconductor plants at various stages are as follows:

• Micron Semiconductor Technology India Private Limited is setting up a semiconductor plant at Sanand GIDC with an estimated capital investment of ₹22,516 crore. Construction is currently in progress.

• CG Semi Private Limited is establishing a semiconductor plant at Sanand GIDC with an estimated capital investment of ₹7,584 crore. Construction work is underway.

• Tata Electronics Private Limited has received approval to set up a semiconductor plant at Dholera with an estimated capital investment of ₹91,526 crore. Construction is in progress.

• Kaynes Semi Private Limited has been approved to establish a semiconductor plant at Sanand GIDC with an estimated capital investment of ₹3,307 crore. Land has been allotted for the project.

The expected timelines for production commencement in these semiconductor plants vary. Micron Semiconductor Technology India Private Limited has already begun production under its Mini Pioneer Project on April 23, 2024, while its Main Pioneer Project is expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2025.

CG Semi Private Limited plans to start production for its Mini Project by September 30, 2026, with the Main Project set to begin by October 31, 2027.

Tata Electronics Private Limited is expected to commence production in the second quarter of 2027-28. Meanwhile, Kaynes Semi Private Limited is projected to start production in the fourth quarter of 2025 or the first quarter of 2026. DeshGujarat
