Jamnagar to get another town hall at cost of ₹37 crore

Jamnagar: The Standing Committee of the Jamnagar Municipal Corporation (JMC) has approved proposals worth a total of ₹552.54 crore. These include the construction of a second town hall in the city at a cost of ₹37 crore, the establishment of an underground sewage treatment plant at a cost of ₹22.76 crore, and the relocation of 2,000 stray cattle to the Panjrapol in Abdasa village, Kutch. Additionally, a proposal has been made to regularize long-term contract employees into permanent positions.
At a meeting held on Monday, approval was granted for the construction of the city’s second modern town hall, which will have a seating capacity of 1,200. The facility, designed to host various programs, including theatrical performances, will be built at a cost of ₹36.97 crore on a 30-foot-wide road behind Sindhu-Jyot Bhavan on Rajkot Highway.
The town hall complex will be developed on a 189,000 square feet plot, with 70,000 square feet (0.65 ha) allocated for parking. The two-storey auditorium building will feature eight rooms on each floor, six staircases, eight lifts, six green rooms, rehearsal rooms, VIP rooms with attached toilets, general toilet blocks, projector rooms, two exhibition halls, two administrative offices, a fire safety system, and other modern facilities.
Additionally, a sewage treatment plant capable of treating and releasing 10 lakh liters of wastewater daily will be developed on Khambhaliya Highway near Kabir Laher Lake and Naghedi village at a cost of ₹22.79 crore. DeshGujarat
