March 17, 2025
Dwarka: The infiltration of Bangladeshi nationals across India, including Gujarat, has become a matter of concern. In a recent case, local police arrested five Bangladeshi women near the Rukshmani Temple, close to Rupen Port in Dwarka.
The women were reportedly covering their faces, raising suspicion, after which the police detained and questioned them. During interrogation, authorities recovered Bangladeshi ID cards and mobile numbers from them. The women revealed that an agent had facilitated their entry into Gujarat by sea, charging ₹25,000 from each of them. The authorities are now investigating their route and how they reached Gujarat, with expectations of further revelations.
The Special Operations Group (SOG) apprehended the women while they were engaged in a suspicious conversation near the Rukshmani Temple. Investigations are underway to trace their exact entry point and any possible accomplices.
It has also emerged that these women were illegally earning and remitting money while living in India. Their agent allegedly took a commission from their earnings before transferring the remaining amount to the families of Bangladeshi nationals residing in India.
The police are currently probing their contacts and the extent of their network in India. Further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses. DeshGujarat
