Army assists in dousing major fire at Dhrangadhra

Dhrangadhra: A massive fire broke out at a paper factory in Dhrangadhra around 4 pm today, triggering panic as a huge fireball engulfed the area. The SDM requested the Indian Army’s assistance in dousing the fire. In response, the Indian Army column swung into action immediately with its firefighting teams stationed at Dharangdhara Military Station, an official press statement said.

According to the statement, “All efforts were put to save the lives of civilians including ladies and children. The people were evacuated to safe places with the help of civil administration. Till now no loss of lives has been reported. Multiple Firefighting agencies are working hard to control the situation. The operation is still underway with the deployment of approximately 70-80 Army persons with firefighting equipment as of 07:00 pm.” DeshGujarat
