Play Penned by ISRO Scientists Honoring Ahilyabai Holkar Staged in Karnavati, Gujarat

Karnavati:  As part of the 300th birth anniversary celebrations of the queen Ahilya Devi Holkar, Mahila Samanvay, Karnavati, and Madhav Smriti Nyas organized a free staging of the play Lokmata on March 22-23, 2025. The play was performed four times at the H.K. College auditorium, attracting an audience of over 3,000 people, including renowned artists like Kala Guru Smita Shastri, community leaders, and individuals from Gujarat’s social service sector.

What made this play unique was that it was written and directed by ISRO scientists Nandini Deshpande and Dr. Dhaval Vartak. The performers were all accomplished professionals in their respective fields. This experiment proved that when science and art merge, they not only entertain but also serve as a powerful medium of inspiration for society.
