AMC seals 5 food outlets over hygiene violations; 2 were operating without FSSAI license

Ahmedabad: The Health Department of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) sealed five food outlets across the city for failing to adhere to food safety regulations. The action was taken during an inspection on the night of March 27, 2025.
Out of the five establishments sealed, two were found to be operating without the necessary Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) licenses.
According to AMC, due to non-compliance with the Food Safety and Standards Act and unhygienic conditions, the following food establishments were sealed:

Yummy Food Corner, behind Patel Avenue, S.G. Highway, Bodakdev, Ahmedabad – Sealed for unhygienic conditions.

Krishna Gruh Udyog, near Malav Lake, Vejalpur, Ahmedabad – Sealed for exceeding TPC limits and unhygienic conditions.

Nilkanth Hospitality (Manthan Dosa), near Panchamrut School, behind Bhojaldham, Nikol, Ahmedabad – Sealed for unhygienic conditions.

Shri Devnarayan Bhojanalay, 15, Madhav Estate, Odhav, Ahmedabad – Sealed for operating without an FSSAI license and unhygienic conditions.

Shri Jalaram Parotha House, 19, Madhav Estate, Odhav, Ahmedabad – Sealed for operating without an FSSAI license and unhygienic conditions.
The official statement also stated that AMC’s food safety team conducted checks across various areas, including Nikol, Vastral Ring Road, S.G. Highway, and Mahmadpura Road, inspecting 75 food business units. During the operation, 7 food samples were collected, and 40 notices were issued for non-compliance. The team also took immediate action by discarding unsafe food and imposing administrative charges of ₹33,000.
The civic body officials conducted 45 TPC tests. Additionally, six samples of ice golas and one sample of pineapple syrup were sent to the Public Health Laboratory for further analysis. Based on the test reports, legal action will be taken against the respective food business operators. DeshGujarat
