Ahmedabad-Mumbai travel gets costlier as NHAI hikes tax rates at Bharathana Toll Plaza

Vadodara: Toll tax rates will be increased at Bharathana Toll Plaza, located on National Highway 48 on the Vadodara-Surat section. With this hike, motorists traveling from Vadodara to Surat will now have to pay higher toll charges. The revised rates will come into effect at midnight on April 1.
As per the new rates, cars, jeeps, and vans will now be charged ₹160 for a single journey, while the return journey will cost ₹235. A monthly pass for these vehicles is priced at ₹5,265.
Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV), mini buses, and light goods vehicles will be charged ₹255 for a single trip, ₹385 for a return journey, and ₹8,505 for a monthly pass. Truck and bus drivers (two-axle vehicles) will pay ₹535 for a single journey, ₹800 for a return trip, and ₹17,820 for a monthly pass.
Three-axle commercial vehicles will be charged ₹585 for a single trip and ₹875 for a return journey, with a monthly pass costing ₹19,440. Heavy Construction Machinery (HCM), Earth Moving Equipment (EME), and Multi-Axle Vehicles (MAV) with four to six axles will pay ₹840 for a single journey, ₹1,260 for a return trip, and ₹27,945 for a monthly pass.
Oversized vehicles with seven or more axles will now be charged ₹1,020 for a single journey, ₹1,530 for a return trip, and ₹34,025 for a monthly pass.
Furthermore, a special rate of ₹350 (Rupees Three Hundred and Fifty only) for the year 2025-26 has been set for monthly passes for individuals owning a mechanical vehicle registered for non-commercial purposes and residing within a distance of 20 kilometers from the Bharathana Toll Plaza.
Road users who require monthly passes can collect them from the administrative office at Bharathana Toll Plaza.
It is noteworthy that Bharathana Toll Plaza was the highest-earning toll plaza in India in 2023-24, collecting ₹472.65 crore in user fees. DeshGujarat
