Gujarat Bar Council exempts lawyers from wearing black coats during Summer
March 31, 2025
Ahmedabad: Given the intense summer heat, the Bar Council of Gujarat, following a Gujarat High Court directive, has exempted lawyers in the state’s lower courts from wearing black coats from April 1 to July 31. This rule applies to all lower courts, including metro, family, labor, district, and taluka courts.
During this period, the Bar Council has mandated that all lawyers wear white shirts in court.
Metro Bar Association President Bharat Shah stated that the Metro Bar has more than 5,000 lawyers and experiences significant footfall. Considering this, air conditioning facilities should be provided in criminal courts. DeshGujarat
