Gujarat has four operational solar parks: GPCL report in State Assembly

Gandhinagar: Gujarat has four operational solar parks, with Gujarat Power Corporation Ltd (GPCL) serving as the nodal agency for their management and implementation, according to the corporation’s 2023-24 report presented in the recently concluded Gujarat assembly session.
GPCL, responsible for planning and executing various energy projects, reported an income of ₹627.34 crore in 2023-24, up from ₹571.69 crore in 2022-23, and recorded a profit of ₹163.70 crore compared to ₹155.67 crore the previous year.
As per the report, the Gujarat Solar Park in Charanka, Banaskantha, hosts 36 developers with a combined solar power capacity of 730MW. At the Dholera Ultra Mega Solar Park, where the government approved a 1,000MW project, 300MW has been commissioned so far. Meanwhile, the Raghanesda Ultra Mega Solar Park in Vav taluka, Banaskantha, is fully operational with a 700MW capacity.
