Alliance Air suspends Mumbai-Keshod flight; tourists, locals disappointed
April 05, 2025
Keshod: The Alliance Air flight between Keshod and Mumbai, launched three years ago as part of the UDAN scheme of the central government, has been suspended. The flight, which allowed tourists easy access to the Asiatic lions at Gir Sanctuary and the Somnath Mahadev Temple, used to operate four times a week. However, its cancellation as per the summer schedule approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has left passengers dissatisfied.
The Mumbai-Keshod flight service had an average of 60 to 70 regular passengers and was introduced under the UDAN scheme to benefit small-scale industrialists and tourists. The discontinuation of this service has disappointed many.
Although Alliance Air continues to operate two flight services from Keshod—one to Ahmedabad and another to Diu—these run three days a week as per the summer schedule.
The Airport Campus Director stated that they received an official letter regarding the suspension of the Mumbai flight service, effective from April 1. However, the letter did not mention any specific reason for the cancellation. DeshGujarat
