Health workers in Gujarat end strike after govt assurance on key demands
April 09, 2025
Ahmedabad: More than 8,500 state health department staff returned to work on Monday following a government assurance on two key demands. The two-week-long strike had disrupted healthcare services, especially in rural areas and at health centres. “Officials have assured us that a decision regarding the promotional exam will be made soon,” said a health worker.
Healthcare staff from district PHCs and CHCs had been staging a protest in Gandhinagar since March 12. Their key demands included inclusion in the technical cadre, revision of grade pay, and the scrapping of departmental exams. DeshGujarat
