Gandhinagar: Former Dediapada MLA Mahesh Vasava today announced his resignation from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Vasava, the founder of the Bharatiya Tribal Party (BTP) and son of veteran tribal politician Chhotubhai Vasava, had joined the ruling party in March of last year.
In his resignation letter, the former MLA stated, “At this time, it appears that India is not functioning according to the Constitution, and I, as an Adivasi, want to tell the people of India that we, Dalits, OBCs, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, and other underprivileged groups, will stand together. We will challenge and fight together to end the ideologies of RSS and BJP.”
Vasava had previously won the 2017 MLA elections as a Bharatiya Tribal Party candidate. DeshGujarat
