EAM S Jaishankar Kicks Off, Launch, Review, Monitor Various Development Projects in Gujarat

Narmada district: External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar on the first day of his two days visit to Narmada district in Central Gujarat inaugurated and performed ground breaking for various development projects. The Minister also monitored several ongoing development projects and reviewed their progress.
Jaishankar being a Rajya Sabha member elected from Gujarat is given responsibility of Narmada district by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Narmada is identified as one of the aspirational districts, which is in the need of development.
The External Affairs Minister visited the villages of Vyadhar, Amdala, Jetpur and Agar adopted by him, inaugurated various projects built from their grants under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) and performed the foundation stone laying of the newly constructed LDR building
The Minister was warmly welcomed by District Collector S.K. Modi at Vyadhar village in Tilakwada taluka, one of the villages adopted under MPLADS. Later, the Minister visited Agar village, Aamdala and Jetpur (Vagh.) villages in Garudeshwar taluka and inaugurated a Health and Wellness Centre, an ambulance, a smart Anganwadi and a smart classroom and computer lab in a primary school and flagged off the transport vehicle of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya-Kevadiya Colony.
Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar said on the occasion of the foundation stone laying and inauguration that, as an MP, representing Gujarat as a Rajya Sabha MP for the last six years, and having been given special responsibility by the Prime Minister of Narmada district, he has been coming here frequently and trying to carry out development works for the well-being of the people and to listen to their problems and resolve them. Through development works in the villages under MPLADS, citizens are provided with infrastructure facilities, health facilities are available at their doorsteps, health mandirs (Health and Wellness Centers), Anganwadis for small children, smart classrooms and computer labs.
The Foreign Minister visited Amrit Sarovar in Vyadhar village of Tilakwada taluka. Later, he reached Agar village and performed the foundation stone of the LDR building. He also flagged off the transport vehicle allotted to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Kevadiya Colony.
The Minister inspected the hospitality project being constructed in an area of approximately 71 acres at Garudeshwar and the Tribal Museum project under construction near Khadgada and obtained detailed information about both the projects from the concerned officials.
While many projects and facilities are being created to attract tourists from the country and the world in the Statue of Unity area, the Minister also inspected the recently constructed smart bus stand. After that, the Minister visited the Miyanwaki Forest in Ektanagar and watched a documentary film giving the message of saving the environment. From there, he observed the work of the Tata Group’s hotel project under construction in Vagdia village on the Statue of Unity road.
External Affairs Minister Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar visited the Statue of Unity premises. Where he was welcomed by the Chief Executive Officer of the Statue of Unity, Shri Amit Arora and Deputy Conservator of Forests, Shri Agniswar Vyas. The External Affairs Minister expressed great joy after getting detailed information about the Statue of Unity from the officials. And expressed his opinion in the visitor’s book. He also had a frank and light-hearted discussion with the tourists who visited SOU. The tourists captured this moment as a permanent memory by taking selfies on their mobile phones and the tourists appreciated the work of the Foreign Minister.
The External Affairs Minister said that we will provide assets to the villagers, but it is equally important that people use them properly. Let us all work together with public participation so that children also benefit from it. To realize the vision of a developed India @2047, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid special emphasis on the health and education of the future generation and on enhancing the skills of children through the integration of technology.
