Locals object to public preaching by missionaries in Ukai; video goes viral

Tapi: In yet another incident highlighting religious conversion activities in the Tapi district of South Gujarat, a video from Ukai has come to light where individuals from a Christian missionary group were stopped by local residents from preaching in public.
The incident occurred in Patharda Colony in Ukai, where locals prevented the missionaries from promoting Christianity in the area. The residents stated that people of all religions, Hindu, Muslim, and Christian, live harmoniously in the locality, and therefore, such preaching is wrong and unnecessary.
In the video, locals can be seen stopping the Christian missionaries and saying, “You were earlier warned in Songadh as well, and even then you were told not to carry out such preaching. So why are you doing this? Do we go around preaching our religion? We have no problem with your religion, but what you are doing in public is wrong.”
When one of the individuals defended his actions, a local responded, “We have several Christian friends who support us, and we support them, but what you people are doing is wrong.”
“Christians, Muslims, and Hindus all live here in Ukai in harmony and don’t need this. We have told you peacefully to stop,” the local reiterated.
Another resident, visibly agitated, said, “You have come here without any legal permission, in a project area. If you come again, you will be beaten up.”
The argument escalated further when a woman from the missionary group said they were there to spread the ‘truth.’ The locals objected, saying, “All gods are truth. Just leave from here and don’t come next time.”
Notably, there have been several cases in the past from the Tapi and Narmada districts where tribal people were reportedly brainwashed under the guise of preaching and converted in large numbers. DeshGujarat
