CREDAI gets new President at Change of Guard Ceremony 2025 held at Mahatma Mandir

Gandhinagar: While Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi continues to prioritize ‘Ease of Doing Business’, the Gujarat Government remains committed to approving construction plans within the stipulated timeframe as per existing regulations. The state government is fully prepared to cooperate in ensuring that projects are completed within three years, aligning with CREDAI’s vision. CREDAI is contributing to the realization of the Prime Minister’s ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ vision by assigning responsibility to one official from each region of India in its new National Committee, said Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

The ‘Change of Guard Ceremony – 2025’ of CREDAI, which represents over 13,000 developers nationwide, was held at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar in the presence of the Chief Minister. Shekhar G. Patel, Managing Director of Ahmedabad-based Ganesh Housing Corporation, has taken over as the new President of CREDAI, the apex body of real estate developers in India. He will serve in this role for the 2025–27 term.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations to the new CREDAI National President and the entire team through a voice message.

Addressing the event, the Chief Minister emphasized the Prime Minister’s holistic approach in addressing food, housing, health, and education for the underprivileged and middle class through inclusive development. He noted that CREDAI has supported these efforts by aligning with government initiatives. Thousands of developers affiliated with CREDAI are actively working toward the goal of ‘Housing for All’ as envisioned by the Prime Minister. Under his guidance, initiatives have been introduced to ensure decent and affordable housing for workers and economically weaker sections in urban areas.

The Chief Minister further appreciated CREDAI’s commitment to providing skill development training to 10 lakh construction workers in 25 cities over the next five years. He also urged attendees to support the Prime Minister’s campaigns such as ‘Catch the Rain’ (for water conservation), ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ (for green cover), cleanliness and health awareness, natural farming, support for the underprivileged, ‘Vocal for Local’, and adopting yoga and sports for a healthier lifestyle.

He congratulated the newly appointed CREDAI National President Shekhar Patel and the entire new team.

In his address, Shekhar Patel expressed gratitude for the new responsibility and acknowledged the Gujarat Government’s continued support. He cited recent policy reforms—such as the expedited land approval process—that have positively impacted the real estate sector. He emphasized that real estate plays a vital role in fulfilling the Prime Minister’s vision of a developed India and reaffirmed CREDAI’s commitment to launching key national initiatives over the next five years. These include a national training institute for 10 lakh workers, the CREDAI Green India Council, the CREDAI Data Analysis Center, and the Affordable Housing 2.0 initiative.

CREDAI National Chairman and former President Boman Irani noted that CREDAI has 13,000 members across 240 units in 24 states and contributes over 15% to India’s GDP. He congratulated the new leadership and reaffirmed CREDAI’s role in supporting the goal of ‘Housing for All’.

Former CREDAI Chairman Manoj Gaur shared highlights from his two-year tenure and expressed confidence in the new team’s ability to help build a developed India. CREDAI Secretary Gaurav Gupta delivered the vote of thanks.

As per tradition, outgoing President Boman Irani ceremonially handed over the baton to new President Shekhar Patel in the presence of dignitaries, including the Chief Minister. The new CREDAI National Team for 2025–27, including the Executive Council and Committee, was formally introduced.

During the event, the book Maru Ahmedabad and a Green Building report were released. Additionally, an MoU was signed between CREDAI, NSDC, and QCI to promote skill development.
