Fake ONGC Job Scam Exposed; One Booked in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: The Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) police have filed a case against Gautam Solanki from Chandkheda for allegedly cheating several individuals by offering ONGC jobs in exchange for money and providing forged documents.

The scam was exposed after Sahdevsinh Zala, an ONGC security inspector, received a tip-off about suspicious activity at an ONGC site in Kalol. Upon investigation, Zala’s team found a group of 10 people who presented fake appointment letters, ID cards, and salary slips, claiming they were hired by Solanki, who allegedly works in ONGC’s finance department.

However, ONGC authorities later confirmed that the documents were counterfeit. Zala revealed that each individual had paid Rs 40,000 to Solanki for their alleged ONGC placements. He provided copies of the forged documents, including emails from an address mimicking official ONGC communication, and evidence of a Telegram group called “ONGCIAN” used for coordination. In response, DCB police filed a case under sections of the IPC for breach of trust, cheating, forgery, and presenting false documents as authentic. The investigation is ongoing to identify other individuals involved in the scam and determine how many people were deceived by the fake ONGC job offers. DeshGujarat
