28 kg of stale food destroyed during inspection at 3 food outlets in Rajkot

Rajkot: The Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) on Friday destroyed 28 kg of stale food items across three establishments during a routine inspection and issued notices to all three establishments to maintain hygienic conditions. The RMC also collected samples of packaged water and spices, sending them for testing.

During the surveillance check, officials inspected the “Mumbai Zaika” establishment located at Sadguru Tirthdham on Raiya Road, where approximately 12 kg of stale, inedible food items — including expired bakery products and stale non-vegetarian prepared food — were found stored.

Another outlet called “P-GRILL,” also located in Sadguru Tirthdham, was inspected and found to have expired bakery products, stale sauces, chutneys, and other items. Similarly, at “HOT & SPICY,” located opposite Crystal Mall on Kalavad Road, officials found expired bakery products and stale sauces and chutneys. A notice was issued to all three outlets, and the stale food was destroyed on-site.

Additionally, the RMC collected samples of chili powder, turmeric powder, pickle masala powder, and mustard split sold under the Adani Masala brand from Adani Brothers National School under the Food Safety Act. Water samples were also collected from Bisween Beverages (Vedwadi, Mawadi), Aqua Neer With Additive Mineral Packaging (Mawadi Plot), Sabrus Packaging Drinking Water (Atlas Industrial, Maldhari Phatak), and Briswell With Additive Mineral and Oxygen Packaging Water (Balaji Industrial Park, Kanaya Hostel, Gondal Road). All samples have been sent for laboratory analysis. DeshGujarat
