IMD issues yellow alert for heat wave in parts of Gujarat

Rajkot: With the daytime temperatures touching 44 degrees Celsius in parts of Saurashtra, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heat wave alert for some districts in the region.

As per the latest bulletin of IMD, heat wave conditions are very likely to prevail at isolated pockets in the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch, namely Rajkot, Surendranagar, Morbi, and Kutch, for the next 48 hours till 8:30 am on 30th April.

The IMD forecast also states that no large change in maximum temperature is expected during the next 5 days; thereafter, a fall by 2-3°C is very likely over the region. Maximum temperatures are very likely to remain in the range of 40-45°C in the state during 28-04-2025 to 01-05-2025.

Furthermore, discomfort conditions due to hot and humid air are very likely to prevail over the coastal areas of South Gujarat region and Saurashtra-Kutch from 28-04-2025 to 01-05-2025 (Day 1 to 4). DeshGujarat
