Haryana’s Mountaineer Begins ‘Run for Ram’ from Somnath to Ayodhya

Prabhas Patan: In a remarkable feat, Dr. Narendra Singh Yadav, a mountaineer from Haryana, has launched his run from Somnath to Ayodhya as part of his ‘Run for Ram’ initiative. The run, covering a distance of 1,761 kilometers through four states, will conclude in 36 days.

After previously completing long-distance runs from Rameswaram to Ayodhya and from Jammu & Kashmir (Budha Amarnath) to Ayodhya, Yadav has now embarked on this symbolic journey to spiritually connect the four directions of India with Lord Ram’s birthplace.

Before commencing his run, Yadav performed a Jalabhishek at the Somnath Mahadev Temple, where members of the VHP, Bajrang Dal, and RSS were present to support and cheer him on.

Speaking about the initiative, Yadav said, “This is my third mission dedicated to national devotion. In 2021, I ran 2,911 km from Rameswaram to Ayodhya in 47 days, and in 2023, I completed a 1,600-km run from Jammu & Kashmir to Ayodhya in 32 days, setting a record.”

Yadav plans to cover 51 km daily on his route to Ayodhya, which will pass through Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh before reaching Uttar Pradesh. The run is being organized by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Ashok Singhal Foundation. Throughout the journey, Yadav will be accompanied by a five-member team including doctors and physiotherapists, with support from RSS, VHP, Bajrang Dal, and other groups ensuring arrangements at various points.

Dr. Yadav is well known for his past achievements, including his mountaineering accomplishments such as summiting the highest peaks on five continents. With this run, Yadav aims to inspire others through his devotion, beginning from the sanctity of Lord Shiva’s presence at Somnath to Lord Ram’s birthplace in Ayodhya, raising awareness about Lord Ram and his legacy.
