IMD forecasts unseasonal rain in parts of Gujarat from May 3 to 6

Ahmedabad: The state is reeling under intense summer heat, with mercury touching 44 degrees Celsius in Ahmedabad and Rajkot on Tuesday. Meanwhile, a sudden weather change is expected over the next three days, as unseasonal rain is likely to lash parts of Gujarat later this week.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light rain from May 3 to 6.
On May 3, light thunderstorms with lightning, surface winds of 30–40 kmph (in gusts), and light to moderate rain are likely at isolated places in Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, and Kutch.
On May 4, similar weather is expected in Banaskantha, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Patan, Aravalli, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Bhavnagar, Amreli, and Kutch.
On May 5, affected districts will include Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Valsad, Navsari, Dangs, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, Kutch, and Diu.
On May 6, unseasonal rain is likely in Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Dangs, Valsad, Navsari, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Rajkot, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, and Diu.
