Migrant workers from Khavda Solar Park start returning home amid India-Pak tensions

Bhuj: Amid rising tensions along the India-Pakistan border, thousands of migrant workers employed at the Khavda Renewable Energy Park have begun returning to their home states in whatever vehicles they can find.
Since early Friday morning, workers have been seen queueing up at the Kotda check post, trying to board any available vehicle to head home. Around 5,000 migrant workers, employed across departments at the Adani-run park, are now on the move. Daily buses from Khavda to Barmer are running at full capacity, while others have packed into SUVs, Boleros, jeeps, tempos, buses, and even dumpers to leave the area.
Located near Vighakot village and close to the international border, the Khavda Solar Park employs workers from Gujarat and other states. These labourers and their families earn a livelihood through various jobs within the sprawling renewable energy facility. However, following fears of a potential border conflict and the threat of unseasonal rains, the park is being vacated.
Some contractors have arranged temporary accommodation for those unable to leave immediately. Workers said their families were anxious about their safety, and many chose to return home to relieve that concern. DeshGujarat
