Vadodara: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has nabbed four government officials, including a senior clerk (Class 3) of the Mines and Minerals Department in Vadodara, for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹2 lakh.

According to the ACB, the complainant had applied online for permission to stockpile sand, which required clearance from the department. Accused Yuvrajsinh Dilipsinh Gohil, a senior clerk, demanded ₹2 lakh as a bribe for processing the application, claiming the amount was to be distributed among the entire office staff.

Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the ACB. Based on his complaint, the ACB laid a trap on May 12, 2025, at Premavati Restaurant near BAPS Hospital in Atladara, Vadodara. Gohil was caught red-handed accepting the full amount. Investigations revealed that three others—Ravikumar Kamleshbhai Mistry (Assistant Geologist, Anand, currently in charge of the Vadodara office), Kiranbhai Kantibhai Parmar (IT Executive), and Sanketbhai Patel (Royalty Inspector)—were also involved and had coordinated the bribe over mobile communication.
