IndiGo and Air India flights to 3 airports of Gujarat cancelled for May 13
May 13, 2025
Rajkot: IndiGo Airlines has cancelled the flights to Rajkot for May 13th, while Air India has cancelled the flights to Bhuj, Jamnagar, and Rajkot for May 13th due to evil drone activities of enemy country Pakistan across the border. Though there are no drones sighted either in or around Rajkot and Jamnagar, the airlines have decided to cancel the flights on May 13th along with other airports such as Jammu , Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, and Chandigarh.
Air India, in its statement, said, ‘In view of the latest developments and keeping your safety in mind, flights to and from Jammu, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot are cancelled for Tuesday, 13th May. We are monitoring the situation and will keep you updated. For more information, please call our contact centers’.
Indigo, in its statement, said, ‘In light of the latest developments and with your safety as our utmost priority, flights to and from Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Leh, Srinagar, and Rajkot are cancelled for 14th May 2025. We understand how this may disrupt your travel plans and regret the inconvenience caused. Our teams are actively monitoring the situation and will promptly keep you informed of future updates. Before heading to the airport, please check your flight status on our website or app’.
It’s worth noting that there’s no NOTAM (Notice to Airman) issued by the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) regarding these airports. The NOTAM order was withdrawn a day ago after a ceasefire was achieved between India and Pakistan. However, last evening (12th of May), Pakistan continued to send drones towards the areas of Jammu & Kashmir, Amritsar in Punjab, Badmer in Rajasthan, and reportedly in Kutch district, following which a blackout was ordered in Amritsar and some other areas. The Indigo flight from Delhi to Amritsar had to return to Delhi from mid-journey in the air due to a blackout in Amritsar and therefore the inability to access the runway for landing.
With the cancellation of flights by Air India and Indigo, Rajkot Hirasar Airport will not see any flight movement today, as these two are the only airlines operating at Rajkot Airport. While Air India connects Rajkot to Delhi and Mumbai, Indigo connects Rajkot to Bengaluru, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. As Air India has cancelled flights, Jamnagar airport will also not see any civilian flight movement, as Air India is the only airline serving this airport for connectivity to Mumbai. Star Air and Alliance Air, which operate flights to Bhuj, have not announced cancellation of flights. DeshGujarat
