Chhota Udepur girl gets justice after exam seat number mix-up; declared pass after inquiry

Chhota Udepur: A simple case of being in the wrong seat during exams led to a shocking outcome for a Class 10 student from Chhota Udepur, who was incorrectly marked as absent and failed. Despite appearing for all her exams, the result left her stunned.

The case reached Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, who immediately instructed a thorough, transparent investigation. The student, Ankishaben from Naswadi, had unknowingly written her entire exam using seat number 71 instead of her assigned 73. As a result, her result showed her as absent, and she was declared failed.

Understanding the seriousness of the issue, Minister of State for Education Praful Panseriya ordered a detailed investigation. Upon verification, it was found that the student had indeed attempted all papers but under the wrong seat number. Authorities were promptly instructed to correct the records. After reviewing her answer sheets, she was declared passed in Class 10, and all necessary steps were taken to ensure her smooth admission into Class 11, said an official statement.

Panseriya personally handed over her corrected result and stated that a notice was also issued by the District Education Officer (DEO) to the concerned sector inspector for negligence. The minister has directed strict vigilance to prevent such errors in the future. DeshGujarat
