Palanpur: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat today nabbed a Central GST inspector in Palanpur in a bribe case involving a sum of ₹2,000.
According to the ACB, the complainant’s father had applied online for a GST number to start an e-commerce business. Based on this application, the accused, Hanumanprasad Ramkishan Bairwa, a Class-2 CGST Inspector at the Central GST Office in Palanpur, contacted the complainant and stated that he would visit the location for verification. The accused then visited the complainant’s residence, took photographs, and in exchange for submitting a positive report, demanded a bribe of ₹2,000.
As the complainant was unwilling to pay the bribe, he approached the Banaskantha ACB and lodged a complaint. Based on this, a trap was laid during which the accused was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe. DeshGujarat
