IMD forecasts heavy rain in several districts of Gujarat till May 28; yellow alert issued
May 22, 2025
Ahmedabad: Under the influence of an upper air cyclonic circulation over the east-central Arabian Sea off the North Karnataka-Goa coast, a low-pressure area has formed over the region near the south Konkan-Goa coast. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that the system persisted at 08:30 hours IST today and is likely to move northwards, intensifying into a depression within the next 36 hours. Further intensification is also possible thereafter.

Additionally, a yellow alert for possible heavy rainfall has been issued in some districts of Gujarat.
