Ahmedabad: In light of the upcoming IPL 2025 cricket matches scheduled at Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera, traffic restrictions and diversions have been announced in the city.
Police Commissioner G.S. Malik (IPS) has issued a notification under the powers vested by Section 33(1)(B)(C) of the Gujarat Police Act, 1951. The traffic order is intended to ensure smooth vehicular movement, crowd control, and safety during the high-profile matches. These matches include Gujarat Titans vs Lucknow Super Giants on May 22, 2025, Gujarat Titans vs Chennai Super Kings on May 25, 2025, Qualifier-2 on June 1, 2025, and the Final Match on June 3, 2025.
Large crowds, including VIPs, players, celebrities, and fans, are expected to arrive at the venue in a limited timeframe, prompting traffic diversions and vehicle movement restrictions on specific routes.
Traffic Diversion and Alternative Routes
Restricted Route: The road from Janpath T-junction to Motera Stadium main gate via Krupa Residency T-junction to Motera Village T-junction will be closed for vehicular movement.
Alternative Route:
The road from Janpath T-junction to Motera Stadium main gate via Krupa Residency T-junction up to Motera Village T-junction will be closed for vehicular movement.
Movement will be allowed from Krupa Residency T-junction via Sharan Status Crossroads to Bhat-Koteshwar Road towards Apollo Circle.
