PM Modi inaugurates 18 Amrit Bharat Railway Stations in Gujarat

Bikaner: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated, laid the foundation stone, and dedicated to the nation multiple development projects worth ₹26,000 crore in Bikaner, Rajasthan. Among these projects was the virtual inauguration of 18 railway stations in Gujarat that have been redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Scheme of the Union Government.
The stations at Uttran, Kosamba Junction, Karamsad, Dakor, Derol, Samakhiali Junction, Hapa, Kanalus Junction, Jamwanthali, Morbi, Mithapur, Okha, Jamjodhpur, Limbdi, Palitana, Sihor Junction, Rajula Junction, and Mahuva are among a total of 103 stations inaugurated across India.
These stations in Gujarat have been redeveloped at a cost of around ₹160 crore as city centres, with provisions for amenities like roof plazas, retiring rooms, spacious circulating areas, and more.
Aligned with the vision of Virasat bhi, Vikas bhi, the station buildings are designed to reflect the local architectural heritage.
Provisions for segregated entry and exit gates, improved parking, lifts, escalators, executive lounges, waiting areas, travelators, and Divyangjan-friendly facilities have been made at these stations. According to the Railways, with multi-modal connectivity integration, these stations will become hubs of socio-economic activity in their respective regions. It is also noteworthy that energy-efficient and green measures have been adopted to reduce environmental impact.
Indian Railways had initiated the rejuvenation of more than 1,300 railway stations. Now, in less than two years, 103 redeveloped railway stations have been inaugurated under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS). DeshGujarat
