Kutch: The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested one Sahdevsinh Gohil, a suspected Pakistani spy, near the Kutch border area. According to officials, Gohil worked as a health worker in Dayapar, Kutch, but was allegedly involved in espionage activities on behalf of Pakistan.

Addressing the media, Gujarat ATS SP K. Siddharth said, “Gujarat ATS arrested Sahdevsinh Deepubha Gohil, a multipurpose health worker from Kachchh, and registered a case. We had information that the accused had been sharing information related to the BSF and Indian Navy with a Pakistani agent. Acting on the input, a team was formed, and the accused was called here for a preliminary investigation on May 1. During the probe, it came to light that during June-July 2023, Sahdev Gohil had come in contact with a girl named Aditi Bharadwaj through WhatsApp. While speaking to her, he came to know that she was a Pakistani agent. She asked for photos and videos of the BSF and Indian Navy sites, which were under construction or newly constructed. He started sharing photos and videos through WhatsApp from July 2023.”

“At the beginning of 2025, he bought a SIM card on his Aadhaar card and activated WhatsApp on that number for Aditi Bharadwaj with the help of an OTP. After that, all photos and videos related to the BSF and IAF were shared on that number. He was also paid ₹40,000 in cash by an unidentified man.”

Taking all this into consideration, his phone was sent to the FSL. The WhatsApp numbers under Aditi Bharadwaj’s name were being operated from Pakistan. We have registered a case against Sahdevsinh Deepubha Gohil and Pakistani agent Aditi Bharadwaj under sections 61 and 148 of the BNS. Sahdev Gohil has been arrested,” the senior cop said.

It is learned that there may not be any real person named Aditi; rather, the name was likely used by a Pakistani handler to maintain contact with Gohil. What has raised concerns is the extent of Pakistan’s espionage network, which seems to have access even to the contact details of local health workers.
