Traffic restrictions announced in Ahmedabad for PM Modi’s roadshow on May 26

Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Gujarat next week, on May 26th and 27th. During his visit, which comes after Operation Sindoor — carried out by the Indian Armed Forces against Pakistan — roadshows featuring PM Modi are scheduled in Bhuj, Vadodara, and Ahmedabad.
In Ahmedabad, lakhs of people, including over 50,000 BJP workers, are expected to welcome PM Modi during his roadshow, which will proceed from Ahmedabad Airport to Indira Bridge Circle.
Keeping in mind security concerns, cultural events, public gatherings with large crowds, and VVIP movements, the Ahmedabad Police Commissioner has issued a notification announcing traffic restrictions and diversions in the city.
Here are the details of road closures and alternative routes as per the Police Commissioner’s notification:

Traffic from Dafnala Crossroads via Indira Bridge Circle towards Gandhinagar: Use Dafnala Crossroads → Ghevar Circle → FSL Crossroads → Rameshwar Crossroads → Memco Crossroads → Naroda Patiya → Galaxy Crossroads → Sutarna Karkhana Crossroads → straight to Nana Chiloda Circle. |
The notification does not apply to vehicles involved in the event, government vehicles on duty, fire brigade and ambulance services, or any vehicles involved in emergency situations. Passengers traveling to Ahmedabad Airport are permitted to proceed by presenting their flight tickets and necessary travel details to the on-duty police and are required to follow police instructions.
These closures and alternative will be enforced from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on May 26, 2025, subject to the maximum time limit. Anyone violating the orders of this notification will be liable for punishment under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, and Section 131 of the Gujarat Police Act.
Under this order, all police officers/employees of the Ahmedabad Commissionerate — from the rank of Special/Joint/Additional Police Commissioner down to Police Constable — are authorized to lodge complaints against violators under Section 223 of the BNS, 2023, and Section 131 of the Gujarat Police Act.
