Private bus carrying Gujarat pilgrims to Kedarnath overturns in Uttarakhand; several injured

Tehri: A bus carrying around 33 pilgrims from Gujarat to Kedarnath Dham overturned on the Tehri-Ghansali motor road this afternoon, leaving at least 18 people injured.

The mishap occurred near Daba Khale Naame Toke, roughly 1.5 km beyond Tipri, when the driver allegedly lost control of the speeding vehicle, causing it to topple. Chaos erupted as the bus overturned, triggering panic among passengers.

Local residents who witnessed the accident quickly alerted emergency services and the police. Three passengers, including a woman and a child, sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Primary Health Centre in Nandgaon with the help of a 108 ambulance. Fifteen others sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

All passengers were pilgrims from Gujarat, travelling from Uttarkashi to Kedarnath Dham—a major destination during the ongoing Char Dham Yatra.

Relief teams and police promptly reached the spot and carried out rescue operations. Authorities are continuing to assess the health status of the remaining passengers.

Police informed that the group had booked the vehicle three days ago from Haridwar for the Char Dham Yatra and were on their way to Kedarnath at the time of the accident. DeshGujarat
