Ahmedabad Air India Plane Crash: Nearly 400 Fire Personnel on Rescue Job

Ahmedabad: Following the tragic plane crash in the city this afternoon, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has mobilized its entire machinery for rescue and relief operations at the site.
The Municipal Commissioner, along with all Deputy Municipal Commissioners and various departmental teams, is actively engaged in the operation. The fire and emergency response team includes one Chief Fire Officer, two Additional Fire Officers, four Deputy Chief Fire Officers, 15 Station Officers, and 337 firemen. The operation is being carried out using 60 fire rescue vehicles and 159 workshop staff.
Additionally, heavy machinery such as 15 JCBs, 5 excavators, 25 trucks, and one road roller has also been deployed for the ongoing relief work.
From the Engineering Department, around 130 engineers have been pressed into service, while over 100 officers and staff from the Health Department are also contributing to the rescue efforts.
A London-bound Air India flight with 242 passengers on board crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. According to sources, the incident may have claimed the lives of at least 120 people. DeshGujarat
