Ex-CM Vijay Rupani’s last rites to take place in Rajkot after Air India crash

Rajkot: The last rites of former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani, who died in the Air India flight crash en route from Ahmedabad to London, will be held in his hometown, Rajkot. After identification of his mortal remains through DNA testing, the body will be transported to Rajkot.

Vijaybhai Rupani’s final journey will begin in Rajkot, where all the rituals, including his last rites, will be performed. This decision has been made by the family.

Vijaybhai’s son, who resides in the United States, is arriving in Rajkot for the last rites. His wife, Anjaliben, has already reached Ahmedabad and will travel to Rajkot with the family. A wave of mourning has spread through his residence in the Paras Society area of Rajkot, where admirers have been gathering to pay their final respects.
