Gujarat govt hikes honorarium for visiting specialist doctors in state hospitals

Gandhinagar: The honorarium for visiting specialist doctors serving in the state’s district hospitals, sub-district hospitals, and community health centers has been increased. The decision was taken under the CM Setu scheme during the state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel today.
Providing details, Spokesperson Minister Rushikesh Patel said that under the CM Setu Scheme, it has been decided to provide an honorarium of ₹4,200 per day to all types of private visiting specialist doctors serving in district hospitals, sub-district hospitals, and community health centers of the state, after a minimum of 3 hours of mandatory service. Previously, pediatricians and general physicians were paid ₹3,000 per day, while other specialist doctors received ₹2,000 per day.
He further stated that visiting non-surgical super specialists working in hospitals affiliated with government medical colleges and GMERS-run medical colleges in the state were earlier paid ₹8,500 per day after a minimum of 3 hours of service, while surgical super specialists received only ₹2,700. This has now been revised, and both surgical and non-surgical super specialists will receive an honorarium of ₹8,500 per day after a minimum mandatory service of 3 hours. DeshGujarat
