34 NDRF-SDRF teams deployed across Gujarat amid heavy rains

Gandhinagar: Following heavy rainfall in Saurashtra and now in South and Central Gujarat, the state has intensified its emergency response preparedness. In view of the prevailing weather conditions, a meeting of the Weather Watch Group was held at the State Emergency Operation Center (SEOC) in Gandhinagar, where officials reviewed the monsoon situation and issued necessary instructions to all departments.
During the meeting the NDRF official informed that a total of 34 teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been deployed at the district level across Gujarat to deal with any emergency arising due to heavy rainfall. Additionally, two teams have been kept on standby for immediate mobilisation if needed.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall across various parts of the state in the coming week. In response, departments have been directed to stay alert against potential risks. DeshGujarat
